Opening Hours:

Nursing Post will treat Emergencies 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
$35 Fee applies to out of hours visits that are non-emergencies.
$80 Fee applies to all overseas tourist visits to Clinic.

Silver Chain Nursing Post

Responsible for Primary Health Services i.e. Child Health, Women’s Health, Immunisation, School Health Programs and relief nurse for Fiona Coad.

Doctor Services

There is no resident Doctor in Shark Bay. The Doctor visits twice weekly from Carnarvon Hospital on Mondays and Thursdays.

Appointments must be made through the Silver Chain Nursing Post.

Chemist & Medical Supplies

The Nursing Post is not a dispensing agency. If regular medication is used, please bring enough to cover your holiday. Any medication required in an emergency or an unexpected situation will be issued on Doctors’ orders only and will be charged for.

There is no resident Chemist in Shark Bay. A Pharmacy Agent at Tradewinds Supermarket forwards prescriptions out of town to be filled. Prescriptions need to be at the pharmacy agency on Monday evening to be received by Friday or Thursday evening to be received by Tuesday.

Evacuations

A local branch of the St John Ambulance, staffed by volunteers, together with the Royal Flying Doctor Service is available when necessary. Family vehicles are quite often adequate to transfer patients. Only very sick patients are transferred by evacuation services. The evacuation services are ordered at the discretion of the consulting Doctor and Nurse practitioner.
