Waste Collection and Disposal
Weekly Verge Collection
Residential ratepayers are charged $208.00 per year for a twice weekly verge collection service of domestic rubbish. The 240 litre mobile bins can be purchased from the Council at cost.
Collection days are Tuesdays and Fridays.
If the collection day falls on a Public Holiday, residents will be advised in advance of alternative collection arrangements.
All bins must be placed on the verge area, adjacent to the roadway on the night preceding day of collection. Only items placed within the bins will be collected.
Commercial Rubbish
Commercial ratepayers are charged either $208.00 per year or Council calculated cubic metres at $5.35 per cubic metre. This charge is for the usage of the Council Rubbish Tip. Council is currently reviewing proposed rubbish collection for commercial businesses.
Offal Pit
The Council Rubbish Tip has an area designated for offal. Please ensure all offal is placed in this area only.
Car Bodies
The Council Rubbish Tip has an area designated for Car bodies. Please ensure all car bodies are placed in this area only.
Oil Waste Facility
The Council has two Oil Waste Facilities for the disposal of oil. One is located near the Denham Marina Service Jetty and the other near the Shire Depot in Dampier Road.
Disposal of Asbestos
Councils landfill license conditions requires that all asbestos be deposited in the area designated specifically for this purpose. Persons wishing to dispose of asbestos are required to contact the Manager of Regulatory Services at least 24 hours prior to disposal. Standard disposal practices must be complied with.

Cyclone Clean-up
The Council performs roadside pick-up once a year before cyclone season. Ratepayers will be notified in advance of the actual date.
Refuse Tip Open
Residents and others wishing to visit the Denham refuse tipsite may do so on the days and times indicated below.
Friday to Tuesday 8.00 am to 11.00 am 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm
Wednesday and Thursday CLOSED
