Meeting Place and Time

Council Meetings are normally held at Shire of Shark Bay Council Chambers, 42 Hughes Street, Denham.

Ordinary Council Meetings commence at 9.00 am.

Works Committee Meetings are normally held at Shire of Shark Bay Office Meeting Room, 65 Knight Terrace, Denham.

Works Committee Meetings commence at 7.00 pm.

Agendas and Minutes

All items that the public wish to present before the Council Meeting must be submitted to the Shire before Agenda close dates (see timetable below).

A summarised version of the Council Meeting Agenda will be available at the Shire Office from the Monday prior to the respective meeting.

Unconfirmed Minutes of the Council Meeting will be available at the Shire Office or on the Shire’s Website within 7 days after the Council Meeting.

Questions

At the beginning of each meeting the public will have a fifteen-minute period of public question time and are encouraged to submit their questions in writing at least 30 hours prior to the meeting to allow time for research and the provision of a more detailed answer. Questions should be marked for the attention of the Chief Executive Officer and sent to -

The Chairperson will endeavour to have every question answered, however if this is not possible the question will be taken on notice and an answer provided in the minutes of that meeting.

The Chairperson will be responsible for the conduct of public question time and will ensure that each person wishing to ask a question is given a fair and equal opportunity to do so. Questions should relate to the business of the Council and should not be a statement of personal opinion. Members of the public are not permitted to interrupt or enter into any conversation during the meeting.
