Herald Denham Centre Units

Council manages 13 low cost long term rental accommodation units for the aged to provide safe, secure, affordable and accessible accommodation for the most vulnerable people in our community and individuals in greatest need. The units are designed for independent living, consisting of thirteen one-bedroom units with a communal bbq facility.

All units are single bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, combined lounge, kitchen, laundry and front and rear porches. Council is responsible for all building maintenance, lawns and keeping the properties in good condition and fit for the tenant/resident to live in as per their General Tenancy Agreement.

Council does not provide in-home care to the residents and will assist linking tenants to appropriate support services as required, working in close partnership with the Home And Community Care team.

The Shire of Shark Bay is committed to assisting and supporting the well being of its older residents wherever possible. Council's Community Strategic Plan identifies the need to manage and provide to a standard that ensures, at a minimum, legislative compliance and equitable access to aged care housing.
